Marcassite specimens from Reocín mine are a classic of the Spanish mineralogy. This piece, of very good size (16 cm/ 6.3 in), is a worthy representative of this species. It presents numerous well-defined crystals, most of them showing the "cock's comb" twinned habit. The brightness is very remarkable. The specimen is more than 20 years old and does not present any alteration, favored by the carbonate matrix. A definitive piece for fine displays.

Very curious group of calcite crystals showing forms twinned. Bright, with defined faces and curved edges. They are accompanied by aggregates of tiny crystals of pyrite, partially included in the calcite. Reddish fluorescence under UV light. Uncommon Moroccan specimens.

Rich group of hexagonal prismatic pyromorphite crystals. Some of them with hoppered forms and marked color zoning. Excellent green color, brilliance and with translucent crystals. A specimen of good size and exceptional quality. Today it is difficult to find them in the market, if we take note that they were seen more often years ago.

RM1972   Rauenthalite and Gypsum

Radiated aggregates and sprays of colourless to white rauenthalite crystals, transparence and with brilliance. Accompanied by gypsum, erythrite and mammillated, creamy monohydrocalcite. Rauenthalite is a very rare hydrated calcium arsenate.

RM1970   Djurleite

Gray djurleite well defined crystals (largest group 9 mm) interpenetrated, showing octahedral forms, with triangular faces. On a matrix of copper sulphides. As usual of these specimens, they may actually correspond to phases of djurleite-chalcocite. We can consider the specimens of Las Cruces mine among the best worldwide. From the former Povill collection.

Excellent group of prismatic, slightly barrel-shaped crystals of pyromorphite. They show defined faces, with parallel growths and hoppered terminations, very brilliant. The green color is very good. Very aerial, skeletal, a first class piece. Nowadays it is not easy to find samples with this quality, remembering past times in which they were seen more often.

This specimen of good size and quality comes from a classic North American locality for the species. Numerous pink crystals of inesite coat the interior of a vug in the matrix. Crystals of inesite are very sharp and brilliant. A good piece of this ancientlocality.

Specimen with many years, from the Daunis collection (Barcelona), with the handwritten label. There are several groups of sphalerite crystals, brilliant, translucent with an intense orange color when the light passes through them. They are disposed on a matrix with dolomite crystals. The sample has not been treated, so it presents some areas with small scratches, typical of the time. A great sample from this classic Spanish mine.

Rich group of microcline crystals, some of them with the Mannebach twin, well defined. Specimen belonging to the collection of Sr. Manchion, acquired at the Sant Celoni mineral show in March 1985. A piece with history.

RM1934   Staurolite

Large crystals of staurolite included in micaceous schist from this classic Spanish area. The formation of metamorphic materials of the Oriental Guadarrama range, with a medium grade regional metamorphism, includes banded shales with almandine, sillimanite, distena and andalusite.

Historically the most representative fluorite specimens from mina Moscona are yellow, recently some of violet tones have been collected. This ancient specimen is one of the few that appeared in the mine with this pink to purple color, with zoning. It is a floater, formed by growths of cubic crystals with faces with polysynthetic growths, very brilliant and translucent. They are partially covered with sharp tabular barite crystals, between transparent to opaque on the outer edges. No damage, good size and fluorescent (UV-LW). A very unusual piece for this classic Spanish mine, from a former German collection.

Group of cubic fluorite crystals, with defined edges and faces with tiled growths. Good brilliance, translucent to transparent and intense violet-purple color with marked geometric zoning. When the light passes through them, a purple tone is shown and the lines of growth are observed. On one of the crystals there is a small group of calcite crystals. A fine quality fluorite.

Former specimen of actinolite adquired in marzo de 1987 at the Sant Celoni mineral show by Sr. Manchion. It shows radial aggregates of green crystals of actinolite, with whitish fluorapatite prisms included in. It comes from a Portuguese quarries abandoned for decades.

This floater specimen shows a curious and aesthetic skeletal growth of arsenopyrite crystals. Oquerous, extremely brilliant, with flattened and striated forms. An exceptional piece for this Portuguese mine that never ceases to amaze us for its top quality specimens. A very different specimen from Panasqueira.

RM1926   Scolecite

Scolecite and aerinite specimens from this small Aragonese town are known worldwide. This specimen shows groups of acicular prismatic crystals those form globular aggregates which, when extracted, they allow us to see the radiated growths perfectly. Snowy white color and good luster. Samples of this quality and size are rare and less nowadays. With Sr. Daunis handwritten label.

RM1925   Wavellite

Wavellite specimens from Arkansas are becoming rare from this locality. In this remarkable sample we can see globular aggregates of crystals of this phosphate, with a second generation that covers them partially and of a lighter green color. Good color and aesthetics. A real classic.

Brilliant botryoidal hematite specimen. In the back side we observe very esthetic concentric growths of different colours, fibrous, of hematite. These pieces have been cleaned in origin with sand which eliminates the surface oxide layer to let us see these spherical forms of good size. Very curious Moroccan novelty.

Group of very sharp and tabular wulfenite crystals, with an excellent brilliance, color varies between orange to red and from translucent to transparent. They are disposed as rossettes very aerial on a matrix of goethite. Main crystallographic forms we can be observe are the first and second order tetragonal pyramids, truncated by the pinacoidal faces.

A combo that Trepča supplies to the world of mineral collecting. In this specimen we have rhodo crystals with pink tone, well defined. They're partially covering sphalerite crystals, of intense brightness, with defined crystals of galena. Very thin quartz crystals forming rosettes and upholstered areas of delicate boulangerite filaments. Calcite flattened rhombohedral crystals with a greyish tone. A very aesthetic and interesting sample.

Pure brilliance, shining crystals, pure aesthetics. This specimen is formed by several sphalerite crystals, very, very bright, complex and of intense black color. When the light falls on them, the reflections are amazing. They are accompanied by lenticular siderite that gives a touch of contrast with the sphalerite. Some scattered crystals of arsenopyrite. A piece that will stand out in the showcase; turn it over with your hand hand under the light and enjoy.
