RM1209   Conichalcite with calcite
More photos

An unusual specimen from this Moroccan mining area. Globular aggregates of crystaline conichalcite  with its classic green color, partially covering cavities of the matrix. To give a unique touch of quality to this sample, cavities are covered with bright, water-clear calcite crystals, many of them doubly terminated, and including or covering the conichalcite species. An excellent and brilliant specimen.

Size: 8.0 x 6.5 x 6.0 cm.
Main crystal: 5 x 1 mm
Found in 2015.

RM946   Cobaltoan calcite

A very brilliant cobaltoan calcite specimen with an intense pink color. Brilliance is due to several small calcite crystals. From a classic Moroccan locality.

Size: 5.3 x 5.1 x 4,8 cm.

RM804   Erythrite with skutterudite
More photos

In this specimen we have a very curious combination of erythrite forms. On the one hand, globular aggregates of this arsenate formed by needle like crystals with a velvet luster and a pale pink color. On the other hand, groups of lanceolated crystals with defined faces and edges, good transparence and deep purple color. All of them are disposed on a matrix with sharp cube octahedron skutterudite crystals. A fine specimen for this Moroccan locality.

Size: 6,0 x 4,3 x 3,2 cm.
Main crystal: 13 x 5 mm.

RM638   Allargentum, silver and dyscrasite
More photos

A huge size and very rich specimen formed by groups of allargentum intergrown with dyscrasite and silver. Defined crystals, very aerial disposed. Good luster, with metallic gray tones, gold (classic for allargentum) and silver. On a calcite matrix. A very elegant and quality sample for this locality and species.

Size: 8,2 x 4,4 x 3,3 cm.
Main crystal: 10 x 2 mm.
Found in 2001.

RM596   Proustite

Unusually species for this Moroccan mine. The dealer confirmed the locality, I initially thought in Imiter. This is a group proustite crystals with good red color, brilliance and transparence, some of them contacted due to the cavity, others showing terminations and striated faces. In calcite matrix.

Size: 6,0 x 5,2 x 3,7 cm.
Main crystal: 4 x 1 mm.

RM555   Erythrite
More photos

On a matrix covered by small quartz crystals, very bright, you have different groups of erythite crystals with a good size, showing the flattened prismatic shapes and intense color, typical for the species. A sample of quality and good size.

Size: 10,0 x 7,5 x 2,2 cm.
Main crystal: 33 x 17 mm.

RM462   Erithryte
More photos

On a heavy Co-As primary minerals matrix are disposed a rich group of acicular prismatic erythrite crystals. They form the usual globular aggregates but, in this specimen, disposition and this pink to orange color give to the specimen a different touch. A classic from this Moroccan cobalt locality.

Size: 6,0 x 5,8 x 5, 8 cm.
Main crystal: 7 mm. aggreg.

RM461   Erythrite
More photos

On a rich Co-As primary minerals matrix are disposed several groups of acicular crystals of erythrite forming colloquially called: hedgehog aggregates. They are partially covering the matrix, as isolated groups or like a velvet. The pink to fuchsia colors are remarkable and confers to the specimen an excellent aesthetics.

Size: 10,0 x 5,3 x 3,6 cm.
Main crystal: 5 mm. aggreg.

The Bou Azzer's Erythrite is usually found as flattened tabular crystals but sometimes we can enjoy these needle like Erythrite specimens showing spherical aggregates formed by thin tabular crystals with an intense pink to purple color and excellent brilliance. A really good specimen from this Moroccan cobalt mine.
