RM3435   Berthierite

Berthierite is a rare iron antimony sulfosalt and not often found in good crystallized specimens. This piece is from the classic locality, the Baia Sprie Mine (Felsőbánya Mine) in Romania featuring dozens of acicular, silvery-grey needles of berthierite in nearly parallel growth, free of matrix. This rich specimen is beautifully accented with a variable iridescent tarnish, giving the piece much color and character. A wonderful example of this rare and classic material from a locality that was mined continuously from the 14th Century until 2006. From the collection of Julio Martínez (València).

Size: 11.8 x 4.4 x 3.4 cm.
Found in ±1991.

RM3304   Boulangerite and Stibnite

Excellent aggregate of prismatic stibnite crystals, very brilliant, with iridescence, which are disposed forming radial aggregates. They are partially covered with fine needles of boulangerite crystals. With small doubly terminated quartz crystals. A very aesthetic, colourful piece with the J. Viñals label and from the E. Nicolau collection.

Size: 6.4 x 5.2 x 3 cm.
Found in ±2000.

RM2818   Stibnite and baryte

Thick and good size stibnite crystal from this classic Romanian mine. It presents an elongated prism, striated, with an excellent brightness. Very rich in facets in the upper terminal part, with complex bipyramidal faces. Accompanied by baryte cristals as minor matrix. Nowadays it is difficult to find specimens of this quality from this mine. It comes from a former Austrian collection.

RM2817   Stibnite

Very thick and good size stibnite crystal from this classic Romanian mine. It presents an elongated prism, striated, with an excellent brightness. Very rich in facets in the upper terminal part, with complex bipyramidal faces. On the main crystal we observe a group of crystals of the same mineral, finer, that suppose a second crystallization. Nowadays it is difficult to find specimens of this quality from this mine. It comes from a former Austrian collection.
