RM531   Malachite after azurite
Cu₂(CO₃)(OH)₂
  -  5. Carbonides and nitrates

Brilliant and sharp azurite crystal with prismatic forms and defined terminal faces. With good color, luster and some transparency, which is partly substituted by malachite. Disposed in a cavity of the rocky matrix. It is accompanied by another crystal, also partially pseudomorphed, having a fracture due to the contact with the enclosing matrix.
In Kerrouchen, a classic Moroccan mineral locality, each miner has his own "hole" and get its samples. This one was estracted in our visit in February 2013.

Size: 6,5 x 4,4 x 4,0 cm.
Main crystal: 16 x 8 mm.
Found in 02/2013.
