RM2036   Rhodochrosite

Uchucchacua mina, Oyón, Lima, Peru

Group of rhodochrosite crystals with a uniform pink color, with well-defined rhombohedron echeloned and scalenohedron forms. Good gemmy transparence. They are accompanied by other smaller rhodo crystals. On a solid matrix with quartz crystals with inclusions and manganese oxides.

Senegalite is a rare aluminium phosphate. In this specimen we can observe several prismàtic transparent crystals on blue turquoise. This specimen is from the type locality for the species.

RM1896   Pyurolusite replacing manganite

Imini mine, Ouarzazate, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

From what has been analyzed, Imini pyrolusites are partially replaced by manganite. This specimen is not at all common, since it shows us shapes in sheaf that remind us the German manganite specimens. Intense black color, very defined crystalline aggregates, with some isolated crystals... An exceptionally rare sample. On baryte matrix.

RM1863   Hemimorphite with mimetite

Very aesthetic fan-shaped groups of transparent hemimorphite crystals, with a very good brilliance and excellent terminations. Accompanied by small aggregates of yellow greenish mimetite crystals. On a limonite matrix.

RM1822   Pyrolusite and Romanéchite

Haití mine, Cabezo de San Ginés, Sierra Minera de Cartagena-La Unión, San Ginés de la Jara, Cartagena, Murcia, Spain

Good specimen formed by various manganese oxides, with tabular crystals of pyrolusite forming brilliant rosettes, on botryoidal aggregates of romanèchite-pyrolusite. A good old piece. Acquired by Sr. Manchion in the former minerals fair held in 1985 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, close to Barcelona.

RM1811   Claraite with theisite and azurite

Les Ferreres mine, Rocabruna, Camprodon, Girona, Catalunya, Spain

Globular groups formed by lamellar crystals of theisite, with a bluish to green color on a matrix of dolomite. It is accompanied by crusts of claraite crystals, of an intense turquoise blue. Also with azurite. Analysis results will be sent to the buyer. Claraite is a rare copper and zinc carbonate which may contain sulfur and/or arsenic. Theisite is a rare copper and zinc arsenate-antimonate that has been described for the first time in this mine in the Catalan Pyrenees. These mineral species are the second citation in Spain.

A rich group of baryte crystals, with staggered stalactite growths, intense white, with defined faces and edges and forming a very displayable and aesthetic "crest". Really good size.

A huge size and aesthetic native copper, which shows an arborescent growths formed by copper crystals. They are partially covered by copper salt species, together with cuprite and quartz. A very displayable piece.

Very bright specimen formed by numerous hexagonal shape pyrrhotite crystals, accompanied by pyrite. A pyrite mine owned by Solmine. Closed before 1984. An old specimen from an Italian locality from where it is very difficult find specimens.

RM1774   Spodumene (var. Kuncite)

Laghman, Afghanistan

Well crystallized colorless to slightly pink spodumene crystal, with well defined terminal faces and parallel growths. The crystal is translucent with marked transparent areas.A gemmy specimen.

Very esthetic and historical specimen formed by crystals of cerussite, transparent to translucent, with an unusual brightness, elongated prisms, rich in faces and some twins. Closely observed, it becomes a crystallographic pleasure. From a classic Moroccan mine from where nowadays is not easy to find samples with this quality.

Aesthetic and historic specimen of anglesite, formed by a well developed tabular crystal, lanceolated, very rich in faces, with various rhombic prisms facets and striated pinacoids. It presents an excellent transparence and good brilliance. It is disposed on a galena matrix accompanied by other crystals of the same species. A pleasure to enjoy the crystallography of the piece. An ancient specimen of the former Manchión collection.

This octahedral green fluorite is perched on a druse of quartz, with window forms. It shows defined faces and edges. Color is intense with transparence. On a matrix of feldspar. This is from a small tungsten mine that was worked intermittently in the past including by the Russian government as a source for tungsten back in the 1980s. Few good minerals came out, and fewer still in this size and quality.Fluorescent under LW-UV.

RM1736   Octahedral fluorite with quartz

Kara-Oba W deposit, Betpakdala Desert, Karagandy, Kazakhstan

This octahedral green fluorite is perched on a druse of quartz, with window forms. It shows defined faces and slightly curved edges. Color is intense with transparence. On a matrix of feldspar. This is from a small tungsten mine that was worked intermittently in the past including by the Russian government as a source for tungsten back in the 1980s. RM1647   Hematite on Rhyolite

Nador, Oriental region, Morocco

This specimen is full of brilliance, not easy to show with the camera. The Nador hematite specimens are well known but without matrix. In these specimens we can enjoy a rich group of crystals, with very defined faces and edges, brilliant and disposed very aerially on the rhyolite matrix. The specimens come from a small rhyolite quarry very close to the community of Nador, on the road to Melilla. These hematite have sometimes been erroneously labeled as "Ouichane" or "Jebel Ouichane", the locality for the blue baryte. Very diferent and aesthetic.

A huge size and very brilliant druse of prismatic epidote crystals forming fan-shaped forms, with a deep green color. From this classic Catalan locality where nowadays it is forbiden collect specimens.

Pyrite cluster formed by some interpenetrated crystals, with marked striated cube faces and pyritohedron. Faces and edges have a characteristic curvature. Excellent brilliance. These are specimens with more than two decades from this classic pyrite Spanish mine.

RM1417   Aragonite on basaltic rock

Mamelles Beach, Ouakam, Dakar, Senegal

From a locality not represented in collections it is coming this specimen of aragonite. It shows aggregates of prismatic crystals, very sharp, in divergent growth, transparent and good brilliance. These specimens were collected in a nearby cliffs of two small volcanoes in the western end of the Cape Vert peninsula, near Dakar, in underground quarries. A mineral rarity.

Rich group of aragonite crystals forming an aesthetic and shiny rosette. A specimen of great aesthetic, unusual for this mine and in collections. A classic Greek locality. From a former collection, which label will be send to the buyer.

RM1306   Pyrite with marcasite and quartz

Huge size and very brilliant specimen formed by numerous polysynthetic growths of octahedral pyrite crystals. The golden color is superior and brilliance, as we said before, is really excellent. With white milky quartz and some marcasite. A fine piece from this locality.
These mines are located approximately 50 km south of Alnif, near the border with Algeria. This area was already mined in medieval age for the extraction of copper. In the 60s of the last century, French companies expanded shafts and mineral extraction.
