RM2862 Chalcopyrite, Sphalerite and Quartz
Casapalca Mine, Casapalca, Huarochiri, Lima, PerúGroup of chalcopyrite crystals, bright, interpenetrated, with well defined edges. On the faces of the crystals we can see small aggregates of crystals, probably tetrahedrite. They are accompanied by sphalerite crystals on matrix. An old piece, from the time of those that are preserved in the Freiberg Mining School Museum.

RM2408 Rhodochrosite, tetrahedrite, pyrite and quartz
Casapalca Mine, Casapalca, Huarochiri, Lima, PerúOn a rich group of rosettes of rhodochrosite, with a pinkish tone and a silky luster, there are various crystals of tetrahedrite, defined, brilliant and contrasting on the matrix.

RM2216 Rhodochrosite
Uchucchacua mina, Oyón, Lima, PerúGroup of rhodochrosite crystals with a uniform pink color, with well-defined rhombohedron echeloned and scalenohedron forms. Good gemmy transparence. They are accompanied by other smaller rhodo crystals. On a solid matrix with quartz crystals with inclusions and manganese oxides.

Uchucchacua mina, Oyón, Lima, PerúGroup of rhodochrosite crystals that stand out for their color, with well-defined scalenohedron shapes and good transparence. Accompanied by other smaller rhodo crystals. On a matrix with manganese oxides, hyaline quartz crystals and some colorless fluorite.

RM1976 Fluorite with rhodochrosite
Uchucchacua mina, Oyón, Lima, PerúWe have labeled this specimen as fluorite, because it highlights a group of crystals of this species, transparent to translucent, with complex facets of the dodecahedron, with faces with polysynthetic growths. They are disposed in a vug of bright rhodo crystals and intense pink. A second generation of rhodo forms globules of honey tone. A very curious and aesthetic Mina Uchucchacuapiece.

RM1824 Bournonite, boulangerite and
Casapalca, Huarochiri, Lima, PerúGroup of bournonite prismatic crystals, with striated faces by the cyclic twin; interesting acute terminal faces, good brilliance and complete crystals. They are accompanied by bright aggregates of acicular boulangerite and sharp pyrite crystals. They are accompanied by lenticular crystals of possible magnesite or dolomite. A sample purchased by Sr. Manchion from Dr. Joan Viñals, in the 80s. A different piece from this Peruvian locality.

RM1756 Rhodochrosite
Uchucchacua mine, Oyón, Lima, PerúVery large group of rhodochrosite crystals, very bright, transparent and richly faceted. They show interpenetrated figures of the rhombohedron and the escalenohedron. The pink color is very uniform and intense. They are disposed forming aggregates or as isolated individuals, on a matrix with kutnohorite. A old piece belonging of the first specimens those arrived from these Peruvian mines.

RM1691 Tetrahedrite with chalcopyrite, siderite and quartz
Casapalca Mine, Casapalca, Huarochiri, Lima, PerúVery rich specimen formed by several tetrahedrite crystals, sharp, brilliant, with golden facets due to chalcopyrite. They show forms of the tetrahedron and the cube, together with more complex ones. They are disposed very aesthetically on a matrix covered with quartz crystals and peppered by globular orange siderite. A very esthetic specimen, for lovers of crystallography and sulfides. Analysis show a silver content.

RM1527 Epidote
Concesión Morgan 3, Coayllo, Cañete, Lima, PerúEpidote crystal of a really good size (also for this locality), very sharp and with parallel growths, developed prism, striated. Near doubly terminated. The terminal faces are well defined by various pinacoids. The brightness is excellent and the intense green color can be observed when the light strikes the crystals. Of a little represented locality in the collections.

Terminal faces are defined by various pinacoids. The brilliance is excellent and the deep green color, near black in thick crystals, could be perfectly observed when light crosses through them. RM836 Silver and acanthite
Uchucchacua mine, Oyón, Lima, PerúLong wire silver crystal aprtially covered by greyish acanthite. It is very aerial disposed on a matrix with quartz, silver and some samll acanthite crystals. It has grown on a quartz crystal as a base. Very aesthetic.

RM670 Axinite-(Fe) with quartz, clinochlore and epidote
Sayán, Huaura, Lima, PerúGroup of lanceolated axinite-(Fe) crystals, with excellent color and brilliance, very sharp and transparent. They are partially covering a matrix of quartz crystals with dark green clinochlore aggregates, also with green epidote. The specimen is much better in hand than in the picture.

Sayán, Huaura, Lima, PerúGroup of lanceolated axinite-(Fe) crystals, with excellent color and brilliance, very sharp and transparent. They are partially covering a matrix and accompanied by aggregates of yellow to white prehnite. The specimen is much better in hand than in the picture. A new find in Perú.
