RM1747 Metatorbernite and quartz
Calo, Vimianzo, A Coruña, Galicia, SpainGroup of very sharp metatorbernite crystals, with an intense green grass color, showing the combination of the first and the second order dipyramids, truncated by pinacoidal faces. Its intense color gives a nice contrast with the white quartz matrix. Large open cast mines ans small prospects of kaolinite with some quartz veins in which torbernite crystals have been found. We could say that this locality is included in the most worldwide important torbernite localities due to the crystal quality, size and multiple habits.

RM1743 Malachite
L'Etoile du Congo Mine, Lubumbashi, Katanga, Congo, Democratic Republic ofReally nice botryoidal aggregates of malachite, with intense color and a velvety surface due to the small crystals forming globular aggregates. Very different specimen from this mine, well known for the type locality of cornetite species. All aesthetics.

RM1742 Calcite
Linares-La Carolina, Linares, Jaén, Andalucía, SpainA rich group of scalenohedral calcite crystals, very acute, translucent, of good size and from this classic Andalusian locality. Not very common in these mines. Under the ultraviolet (LW) light they present a very remarkable red-pink fluorescence.

RM1741 Oligoclase (var. of Albite) and Actinolite
Montijos quarry, Monte Redondo, Leiria, PortugalThis old specimen stands out for the large number of oligoclase crystals, a variety of albite, very well defined and rich in facets. They are accompanied by prismatic crystals of actinolite, with an intense green color. A piece for collectors of Iberian deposits. These quarries were worked until the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s of the last century.

RM1567 Octahedral Fluorite with quartz
Kara-Oba W mines, Betpakdala Desert, Kara-Oba, Karagandy Oblysy, KazakhstanThis octahedral green fluorite is perched on a druse of quartz, with window forms. It shows defined faces and edges. Color is intense with transparence. On a matrix of feldspar. This is from a small tungsten mine that was worked intermittently in the past including by the Russian government as a source for tungsten back in the 1980s. Few good minerals came out, and fewer still in this size and quality.Fluorescent under LW-UV.

RM1739 Epidote
Les Collades ravine, Casterner de les Olles, Tremp, Lleida, Catalunya, SpainGroups of fan-shaped epidote crystals, very bright and with transparency and disposed very aerial on the ophite matrix. Intense green color, brightness and transparence. It is currently prohibited to collect in this area. A sample with a good size (12 cm.) and excellent quality, from the classic town of Casterner.

RM1738 Fluorite and quartz
Sanming, Fujian, ChinaThese fluorite specimens are particularly interesting as they show dodecahedral crytals, which is an uncommon habit for fluorite, with minor octahedral and cube faces. To give a touch of aesthetics, crystals have a marked geometric color zoning, revealing a purple replica of the larger crystal inside. Good transparence and brilliances. They are disposed on a quartz matrix. Really aesthetic.

Can Vernenc, La Batllòria, Sant Celoni, Vallès Oriental, Catalunya, SpainGroup of huge size orthoclase crystals, showing the complex faces. Nice slightly orange color and defined edges and faces. It was collected many years ago near of the Montseny massif; this area was well known for orthoclase mineral collectors. A classic from a classic Catalan collection.

El Brull, Osona, Catalunya, SpainThese specimens of banded flint were collected decades ago in the area of El Brull, in the Montseny massif, and identified as agate. They appear in nodules and veins, embedded in a siliceous limestone, presenting bands of gray tones, between light to dark gray. These kind of striped flind are well know in jewelery, and very appreciated. It is a unique curiosity of the Catalan mineralogy of many years ago.

Ampliación a Victoria mine, Navajún, La Rioja, SpainRich group of pyrite crystals, isolated and disposed in the original marl matrix. Exceptional luster and some of them show flattened prismatic shapes. From a classic mine for the Spanish mineralogy. Good size specimen.

RM1730 Lorenzenite
Umbozero mine, Shomiokitovoe pegmatite, Alluaiv Mt, Lovozero, Murmanskaya Oblast', Northern Region, RussiaIt is not very common to find specimens of lorenzenite, a rare sodium silicate titanate, of these Russian pegmatites. The piece shows some crystals with defined faces and edges, intense black and brilliance, some doubly ternminated. Very interesting specimen collected in this large agpaitic pegmatite body discovered in 1996 on the northern flank of the Umbozero mine on Alluaiv Mt. Intensely hydrothermally reworked, extremely Na-rich, CO2-rich and relatively Si-rich pegmatite. We will send analysis to the buyer.

RM1727 Elbaite
Morro Redondo mine, Coronel Murta, Araçuaí, Minas Gerais, BrazilOne of a very few tourmalines I found in this old collection with this classic combination from the 1960s or 1970s: nice brilliant lustre, glassy surface, intense color zoning between pink to green. Parallel groth, terminal rhombohedrons and a crossing prismatic pink small crystal between them. This well-known pegmatite mine was discovered in 1991 and produced very colorful tourmalines. Nice gem.

Echemmaia, Youssoufia, Marrakech-Safi, MoroccoBaryte specimens from this Maghrebian locality are very unusual. They appear labeled as Irhoud and there is a discussion about the locality. These are aggregates of tabular lanceolate baryte crystals those form beautiful rosettes, very aerial disposed, with inclusions those give them these reddish tones. On a matrix with quartz. A rarity.
Echemaïa (Arabic: الشماعية) is a city of Morocco, located in the region of Marrakech-Safi between the city of Safi and Marrakech. Formerly called "Al Kasba" it was renamed "Chemaïa" (literally: "La Chandelière") since the establishment of one of the largest candle factories in the region.
