RM931   Vanadinite

ACF Mine, Mibladen, Khénifra, Meknès-Tafilalet, Morocco

Specimen with a very good size formed by several groups of vanadinite crystals, with an intense red to brownish red zoning color, translucent, very brilliant and showing a defined prism truncated by pinacoidal faces. On a rocky matrix. Different than usual.

RM883   Sphalerite with arsenopyrite and pyrite after pyrrhotite

Trepča Stan Terg Mine, Trepča, Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo

Group of crystals of pyrrhotite completely replaced by brilliant pyrite crystals, which perfectly preserve the hexagonal shape of the original species. It is accompanied by groups of sphalerite crystals, very sharp, intense black color and good luster, with complex forms and twins. With some arsenopyrite. A very aesthetic, brilliant (more than in pictures) and classic European specimen.

Size: 8.0 x 6.4 x 4.7 cm.

RM922   Aurichalcite with calcite

Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Mapimí, Durango, México

In this specimen we can observe two generations of aurichalcite. A first generation as small rosettes formed by lanceolate greenish crystals and second with thiner crystals, needle-like, some of which are included in rhombohedral calcite crystals, with a light blue color. Stand in a very aesthetic way on the matrix of goethite. A very balanced sample.

Size: 7.5 x 5.5 x 3.8 cm.

RM640   Calcite with fluorite and Baryte

Moscona Mine, Villabona area, Solís, Corvera de Asturias, Asturias, Spain

Curious specimen of calcite from Moscona. Formed by some crystals, one of them predominant, with complex rhombohedrall faces with echeloned growth. Accompanied by tabular barite crystals and on a yellow fluorite matrix.

RM596   Proustite

Mine de Bouismass, Bouismass, Bou Azzer, Ouarzazate, Souss-Massa-Draâ, Morocco

Unusually species for this Moroccan mine. The dealer confirmed the locality, I initially thought in Imiter. This is a group proustite crystals with good red color, brilliance and transparence, some of them contacted due to the cavity, others showing terminations and striated faces. In calcite matrix.

Size: 6,0 x 5,2 x 3,7 cm.

It is accompanied by small crystals of light green clinozoisite, some quartz and limonitized pyrite. It was collected many years ago near of the Montseny massif; this area was well known for orthoclase mineral collectors. A classic from a classic collection. Mr. Daunis and Mrs. Ruscalleda (wife) collection were specialized in Spanish quartz and orthoclase specimens.

RM436   Quartz with pyrophyllite and Pyrite

Arestui, Llavorsí, Lleida, Catalunya, Spain

A brilliant quartz crystals from a well known Catalan area, in the Pyrenees, very appreciated for the quality of its hyaline crystals. A rich group of quartz crystals showing a elongated prism and developed and deformed rhombohedral terminal faces. Transparence and brilliance are excellent, with very well defined faces and edges. They are partially covered by small aggregates of pyrophyllite, between colorless to slightly yellow, with some goethitized pyrite. These specimens usually occur in geodes and it is very common find them falled down inside the vug; this specimen shows that one of the crystals has been lost, without affecting the beauty of the whole. This huge size sample is a nice representative of the known Llavorsí's quartz crystals.

Size: 9,2 x 7,0 x 4,8 cm.
Main crystal: 3,7 x 1,4 cm.
