RM2851   Scepter quartz

Izizauen, Alnif, Tinghir, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Group of quartz crystals in parallel growth and with a "scepter" structure. Very well defined faces and edges, brilliant and transparent to translucent. Very aerially disposed on the matrix. An good size and excellent specimen from a Moroccan locality not very known.


Size: 10 x 7.2 x 5.5 cm.
Main crystal: 5 x 4 cm.

RM2072   Acanthite and quartz

Imiter mine, Imiter, Tinghir, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Exceptional specimen of acanthite that shows the skeletal growths of octahedral crystals of this silver sulphide, with an exceptional brilliance, sharp faces and edges, and on matrix, something unusual. Very nice also under magnifying glass. A fine piece of this Moroccan mine.


Size: 9 x 6.5 x 3.8 cm.
Main crystal: 4 mm. 17 mm aggr.

An aesthetic native copper of good size and very aerial, which shows an arborescent growth formed by flattened crystals. It is partially coated with copper salt species, together with cuprite. A very displayable piece.

Specimen of native copper with arborescent and dendritic growths formed by rounded crystals, partially covered with cuprite. Good size. From this classic Moroccan mine.

RM1964   Baryte, Quartz and Pyrite

Bou N'hass Mine, Oumjrane mining area, Alnif, Tinghir, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

The matrix of this sample is defined by a druse of quartz crystals, between milky and hyaline, very well defined, short prism and brilliance. These crystals are peppered by various pyrite aggregates. What stands out, very aerial, is a group of barite tabular crystals, very bright, also dotted with small pyrite-marcasite crystals. An exceptional piece for display, excellent for this mine.

RM1768   Wire Silver and acanthite

Imiter mine, Imiter, Tinghir, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Very esthetic good size specimen of native silver from Imiter. Interesting for its quality, brightness and because it is not acidified, as is usual in many specimens of this type. It is formed by numerous wire and filiform aggregates of native silver, in a loop, with a slightly bronze color and accompanied by metallic gray acanthite. An excellent piece that shows us the silver of Imiter in its most natural state.
