RM1470   Quartz (var. amethyst)

Group of amethyst quartz crystals, very elongated, with transparence and brilliance. The amethyst color is very uniform and delicate. It has some carbonaceous inclusions. Different from the usual specimens for the locality.

RM1847   Romanèchite

Km. 2 road Chihuahua to Cuauhtémoc, Ciudad de Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico

A very well defined botryoidal aggregate. It has a matte luster and is on a rocky matrix. These specimens were found in 2010, in the Km 2 of the road between Chihuahua and Cuauhtémoc,and it is interesting for its quality and size. This material was analyzed by Marcus Origlieri at the University of Arizona (J. Fabre) and reanalyzed "just for fun". Nowadays impossible to find these samples.

Erupción-Ahumada mine, Sierra de Los Lamentos, Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico

Very rich specimen formed by numerous prismatic crystals of wulfenite, with orange color. They are brilliant and disposed on the matrix. A specimen more than aesthetic historical, fine quality and from a classic Mexican locality.

RM1894   Wulfenite

Erupción-Ahumada mine, Sierra de Los Lamentos, Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico

These specimens of wulfenite with the chocolate brown to orange tone are very appreciated by collectors and very difficult to see today, unless they come from former collections with tradition. This specimen shows a large group of tabular crystals, very brilliant and translucent, few small nick that does not affect the aesthetics of the specimen. A classic piece.

RM922   Aurichalcite with calcite

Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico

In this specimen we can observe two generations of aurichalcite. A first generation as small rosettes formed by lanceolate greenish crystals and second with thiner crystals, needle-like, some of which are included in rhombohedral calcite crystals, with a light blue color. Stand in a very aesthetic way on the matrix of goethite. A very balanced sample.

RM1915   Adamite with goethite

Very esthetic specimen formed by some groups of prismatic crystals of adamite, contrasting on a matrix of goethite. The crystals have a very uniform yellow color, with transparency, with very well defined faces and edges and forming rosettes. We can also observe isolated doubly terminated crystals and some almost colorless. A pleasure under the loupe magnifying glass. Good size.

RM1916   Adamite with goethite

Very esthetic specimen formed by some groups of prismatic crystals of adamite, contrasting on a matrix of goethite. The crystals have a very uniform yellow color, with transparency, with very well defined faces and edges and forming rosettes. We can also observe isolated doubly terminated crystals and some almost colorless. A pleasure under the loupe magnifying glass. Good size.

Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Municipio de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico

Group of crystals of adamite, which show a geometric color zoning from yellow to violet due to the presence of manganoan adamite, a variety of adamite rich in manganese. Thios cation gives to these specimens a violet to purple core. Very bright, defined and with transparence that allows us to see this species. Nice and aesthetic specimen.

Very aesthetic specimen formed by acicular globular aggregates and fan-shaped aurichalcite crystals, with an intense blue color. They are filling the cavities of the limonite matrix with a intense contrast. With an old label from this ancient natural science store located in the center of the city of Barcelona.

RM1863   Hemimorphite with mimetite

Very aesthetic fan-shaped groups of transparent hemimorphite crystals, with a very good brilliance and excellent terminations. Accompanied by small aggregates of yellow greenish mimetite crystals. On a limonite matrix.

RM1849   Legrandite

Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Municipio de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico

This specimen of legrandite shows us a group of sharp crystals of this rare zinc arsenate, with an intense orange-yellow color. It is common that some crystals appears fractured, but in this sample there are several perfect prismatic crystals, undamaged, brilliant and with an incredible transparence. I personally like isolated crystals and this piece is one of them. Good size, brightness and aesthetics, very representative for the species. Accompanied by elongated smithsonite white crystals.

RM1729   Quartz, var. Amethyst

Amatitlán, Zumpango del Río, Guerrero, Mexico

A superb, well-balanced spray of amethyst crystals from the famous Guerrero locality. An aesthetic cluster of colored amethyst crystals, representing fine color from this deposit, in crystals which are still gemmy and translucent. Not easy to find nowadays. Ex. J.M. Manchion collection.
