Rosell Minerales
RM2983 Baryte and limonite
Els Frares Quarry, Aiguafreda, Vallès Oriental, Catalunya, SpainBaryte crystals from this quarry are a classic of Catalan mineralogy. They appear in the fissures of the slates, usually covered by iron oxydes. In this specimen we can see various groups of prismatic crystals, brilliant and transparent, rich in faces. Among them, a larger one stands out in which we can see the faces of orthorhombic prisms of various orders truncated by pinacoidal faces. Nowadays it is very difficult to find specimens in this quarry and even less with the quality we offer.
Size: 11.3 x 6.7 x 4 cm.
