RM2458   Iridescent goethite

Very aesthetic specimen of goethite, with stalactitic growths, brightness and zoned iridescences of reddish, greenish, pink, yellow reflections... A very aesthetic piece of this classic locality. From the J. Astor collection (Barcelona).

Found in ca. 1988.

RM1511   Goethite

Corta Filón Sur, Tharsis, Alosno, Huelva, Andalucía, Spain

Very aesthetic stalactic-botryoidal formation of goethite, with some iridescence. This specimen does not show those colors seen in the samples of this locality since it has not been manually husked. It is presented in the original shape with which it appears in the deposit, nowadays very difficult to find.


Size: 8.3 x 4.5 x 3.0 cm.

Group of very sharp cerussite crystals showing a reticulated growth, like a star or a snowflake, with good brilliance. Very aerial disposed. These specimens belong to a chance finding that yielded a few specimens of this quality. From the well-known mining area of Tharsis.
