RM2195 Hollandite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoVery aesthetic and good sized specimen of hollandite, with stalactitic botryoidal structures, velvety and intense almost black gray. A quality piece from this classic Moroccan mine.
Size: 10 x 6 x 5.5 cm.
Found in 2019.
RM2145 Vanadinite on goethite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoCurious specimens of vanadinite showing yellow, slightly orange, hexagonal prismatic crystals, on which a thin layer of goethite has been deposited. At the same time, on this layer another generation of vanadinite and calcium-rich pyromorphite (phosphohedyphane), such as the attached analyzes show, we will send to the buyer. They are disposed on a matrix of goethite. Very interesting and different specimen from this classic Moroccan mine. Take a look to the SEM image of second generation crystals with an unusually rich facet...
Size: 8.5 x 7.5 x 3.8 cm.
Main crystal: 1.2 cm.
Found in 2019.

RM2058 Hematite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoBrilliant botryoidal hematite specimen. In the back side we observe very esthetic concentric growths of different colours, fibrous, of hematite. These pieces have been cleaned in origin with sand which eliminates the surface oxide layer to let us see these spherical forms of good size. Very curious Moroccan novelty.
Size: 7.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm.
Found in 2018.
RM2057 Hematite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoGood botryoidal specimen of hematite. In the back side we observe very esthetic growths of different tones, fibrous, of hematite. These pieces are usually cleaned at the origin with sand, but in this case and because of the luster, we do not believe that it was. Very curious Moroccan novelty.
Size: 7 x 3.5 x 3 cm.
Found in 2018.
RM1898 Hematite
Taouz mine, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoBrilliant botryoidal hematite specimen. In the back side we observe very esthetic concentric growths of different colours, fibrous, of hematite. These pieces have been cleaned in origin with sand which eliminates the surface oxide layer to let us see these spherical forms of good size. Very curious Moroccan novelty.
Size: 7.8 x 6 x 3 cm.

RM1897 Hematite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoBrilliant botryoidal hematite specimen. In the back side we observe very esthetic concentric growths of different colours, fibrous, of hematite. These pieces have been cleaned in origin with sand which eliminates the surface oxide layer to let us see these spherical forms of good size. Very curious Moroccan novelty.

RM909 Phosphohedyphane with vanadinite
Taouz mine, Tadaout, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoAfter a trip to Morocco in 2013, we analyzed few samples of a mineral similar to mimetite species. Results indicated that it was phosphohedyphane. From the same mine we have obtained some specimens of the zone in which came out in 2013 original ones, but now they showed marked differences. After a careful analysis, results indicate that these were also phosphohedyphane, but with a different shape but similar to the pyromorphite appearance. They are covering cavities of the limonite matrix, small hexagonal crystals slightly barrel-shaped, with green to a yellowish tones. Accompanied by brilliant quartz and vanadinite, some rich in arsenic. It seems that they form part of a pyromorphite-phosphohedyphane series. Analysis results will be delivered to the buyer.
Size: 4.5 x 3.6 x 3.5 cm.
Main crystal: 1 x 1 mm aggr.
Found in 2014.

RM732 Phosphohedyphane with quartz
Taouz mine, Taouz, Er Rachidia, Meknès-Tafilalet, MoroccoThese curious specimens from Taouz mine were collected in February 2013. These cavities are covered by hexagonal prismatic crystals of greenish to yellow color, opaque to translucent, forming nice aggregates. Interestingly, some of the cavities are coated by brilliant small quartz crystals, giving an excellent contrast to the specimen. Iniatilly, these crystals were identified as pyromorphite, but after new SEM-EDS analysis, we can confirm that these crystals contain calcium, with chlorine, phosphorus and lead.
Size: 5,0 x 4,5 x 2,8 cm.
Found in 02/2013.
RM726 Phosphohedyphane with quartz

This is the first citation of this species in Taouz.
