RM862 Calcite with dolomite and chalcopyrite
Sweetwater Mine, Ellington, Reynolds, Missouri, United StatesA very nice specimen from a classic American locality. A group of interpenetrated calcite crystals showing curvatures on their faces and edges. They are transparent to translucent and have a delicate yellow color with zonation. With small rhombohedral crystals of dolomite, peppered by microcrystals of chalcopyrite.
Size: 9.0 x 8.5 x 7.5 cm.
Main crystal: 5.2 x 1.8 cm.
