Group of gypsum crystals, in parallel growth, with siderite inclusions. Open pit exploitation (corta) located next to the San Valentín corta. It belongs from the collection of Joan Astor.
The Corta Brunita (open pit), in Murcia, is a classic of Spanish mining and mineralogy. This sample shows various globular aggregates of cronstedtite, formed by small crystals with triangular terminal faces. They are disposed on a matrix with smithsonite.
Very aerial crystal of gypsum of this classic Murcian locality. It stands out for its transparency, brightness and for visible and aesthetic inclusions. The "matrix" is formed by a group of crystals of the same species. Not usual in the market.
This specimen shows an interesting group formed by a bluish, very bright botryodal chalcedony, which is partially covered by aggregates of calcite crystals, flattened, in axial growth, and with an excellent transparency and brightness. A worthy specimen of this near to disapeared quarry, close to the San Valentín quarry. A very aesthetic piece of this classic Murcia mining area.
Specimens of this mine are unusual in the market. This sample, from an former collection, is one of those pieces that make us appreciate the minerals of the La Gaviota mine. On a matrix of goethite, partially covered with tiny crystals of pyrolusite, are disposed very aerial a rich group of tabular barite crystals. Between translucent to transparent. An opportunity to represent perfectly this mine in our collection.
Good size specimen that shows a rich group of stalactitic growth of chalcedony, a variety of quartz. They are disposed randomly on the goethite matrix. Colourless, yellow and orange tones, due to the iron oxides. A very aesthetic specimen from this classic quarry.
Pure crystallography... Very nice galena crystal showing cube and developed octahedron faces. Perfectly disposed on a grenalitic rocky matrix with siderite.
Cronstedtite is a rare iron silicate of the kaolinite-serpentine group. This is a good representative of the cronstedtite specimens from this classic Spanish mine. It shows a lustrous, black, trigonal crystals forming groups on the matrix. It is a rare oportunity to get good specimens of this species.
From a classic Murcian loocality as corta San Valentín comes this specimen formed by a large group of bright sphalerite crystals with tetrahedral and complex shapes, good brightness and partially covered bu lenticular and rhombohedral orange siderite crystals. A very aesthetically striking contrast color.
Mamellonar aggregates of smithsonite crystals with a very nice orange to brown color covering cavities in the rocky matrix. From a recent find (2014, april) in one of the biggest "cortas" (quarry) of Portmán mining area.

A very rich group of galena crystals, very bright, with good size, interpenetrating between them and showing cube and octahedron faces. They are partially covered by brilliant crystals of sphalerite with honey color and transparency to black and opaque. They are disposed on a matrix with pyrrhotite. An exceptional piece for this classic Spanish locality.
From a recent find in the Valentín open pit, we get these hemimorphite specimens showing aggregates of flattened prismatic crystals as aesthetic rosettes. They are partiallly filling cavities in the matrix. These samples have been analyzed and we will send a copy to the buyer.
