RM1452   Fluorite with cookeite

Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Dos de Mayo, Huánuco, Peru

These specimens of fluorite are very unusual in the market. Groups of octahedral fluorite crystals truncated by cube faces, defined, bright and transparent to translucent. There is an aesthetic color zoning, between colorless to slightly greenish with predominant violet tones on the cube faces, a real curiosity. It is accompanied, to add interest if possible, by globular foliaceous aggregates of bright pink cookeite, a member of the chlorite group. Both minerals are very fluorescent under UV-LW light.

Size: 6.3 x 5.4 x 4.8 cm.
Main crystal: 32 x 30 mm.
