RM379 Pyromorphite on quartz
El Borracho Viejo mine, Garlitos, Badajoz, Extremadura, SpainA miniature formed by a druse of translucent and brilliant hexagonal barrel-shaped pyromorphite crystals. Some of them show parallel growths. With a color zoning that varies between grass green in the center to beige-green on terminal pinacoidal faces. These specimens have been determined by isotopic studies with equal results to those of this mine. This sample is from an old German mineral collection.
Size: 4,2 x 2,5 x 1,9 cm.
Main crystal: 5 x 3 mm.
Found in ±1980

RM377 Pyromorphite with coronadite
El Borracho Viejo mine, Garlitos, Badajoz, Extremadura, SpainIn this miniature we can enjoy two sides. One is covered by several hexagonal barrel-shaped pyromorphite crystals. Some of them show parallel growths. With a color zoning that varies between grass green in the center to beige-green on terminal pinacoidal faces. In the other side, small aggregates of transparent and sharp hexagonal pyro crystals partially covered by black coronadite or growing on it. These specimens have been determined by isotopic studies with equal results to those of this mine. Very curious specimen. This sample is from an old German mineral collection.
Size: 4,5 x 4,0 x 3,2 cm.
Main crystal: 11 x 7 mm.
