RM3006 Silver, var. kongsbergite
Santa Matilde open pit, Grupo minero Berja, Las Herrerías, Sierra Almagrera, Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería, Andalucía, SpainThese specimens are a classic from Las Herrerías mine, and they appeared many years ago. In this piece we can observe a cavity in the rock partially filled with silver foliaceous aggregates, kongsbergite variety, very brilliant and with a silver color with bronze reflections and bluish iridescence, characteristic for the species. This aesthetic and historical specimen has been analyzed and the result will be sent to the buyer. It belongs from the Rolando Gallina mineral collection (Italy).
Size: 5.1 x 5 x 3.7 cm.

La Romana mine, Sierra Almagrera, Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería, Andalucía, SpainNear to a floater, this specimen shows tabular crystals of baryte in parallel growth, in book-shape, very brilliant, transparent and richly faceted. Between colorless to slightly gray due to inclusions. It comes from a locality that is rarely represented in collections (also in Spanish ones).

RM861 Siderite
Arteal Tunnel, Sierra Almagrera, Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería, Andalucía, SpainA very rich group of siderite crystals from an extinct locality such as Arteal Tunnel. It occurs as aggregates of lenticular crystals with parallel growths, very bright and deep brown color. With a second siderite generation of small sharp crystals. In fresh fracture green color siderite is observed.
Size: 6.7 x 4.8 x 3.5 cm.
Main crystal: 24 x 18 mm.
RM859 Siderite

It occurs as aggregates of lenticular crystals with parallel growths, very bright and deep brown color. In fresh fracture green color siderite is observed. Very aesthetic.
Size: 6.7 x 5.3 x 2.3 cm.
Main crystal: 16 x 10 mm.
RM955 Fluorcalcioroméite (pseudomorphosis) with baryte
Santa Matilde open pit, Grupo minero Berja, Las Herrerías, Sierra Almagrera, Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería, Andalucía, SpainAt the beginning of 2014, reviewing some specimens from the Santa Matilde open pit we found into the vugs some groups of lanceolated, fibrous or equidimensional crystals, with pink, beige to white colours, those aroused our interest. After some analysis we could identify as fluorcalcioroméite species (Ca,Na)2Sb5+2O6F,OH), with a small percentage of oxyplumboroméite (Pb2Sb2O7, due to the presence of lead).
Both species belong to the isometric system. But the observed symmetry indicated that they are, highly probable, a pseudomorph after stibnite and/or bournonite crystals. This is the first report of this mineral in the Iberian Peninsula. Nowadays this quarry is completelly filled by rubble. In this specimen we can see some aggregates, one of them predominant, formed by several lanceolated to needle-like crystals, with luster, beige to ocher tone, accompanied by aesthetic baryte crystals. We will send a copy of the analysis (SEM-EDS, XRD) to the buyer.
Size: 7.4 x 5.5 x 5.2 cm.
Main crystal: 3 x 3 mm.
