RM2079   Sulphur with aragonite

Cozzo Disi mine, Casteltermini, Agrigento, Sicilia, Italy

The specimens of native sulfur from Agrigento are famous all over the world. In this sample we can see many orthorhombic crystals interpenetrated between them, but in parallel growth, with defined faces and edges. One of them stands out for the shapes of the dipyramid. Good color, brightness and transparency. They are accompanied by druses of aragonite crystals with a delicate honeydew that cover them partially and very fluorescent.

Size: 8.2 x 6 x 5.5 cm.
Main crystal: 2.4 x 1.6 cm.

Fluorescent under long wave UV
