Aggregates of tabular siderite crystals, with greenish tones, which are disposed on a matrix with small crystals of quartz, galena and baryte. The sample comes from this classic Almeria mine where it is not easy to find specimens of siderite with this quality. From the Aleydis Soliveres collection.
Very rich specimen formed by several cubic fluorite crystals, with polysynthetic growths on the faces and accompanied by microcrystalline quartz. Transparent to translucent. The violet to purple color is very intense and zoned. Some edges have small chips, but it is an old sample, from the mid-80s, from the collection of Julio Martínez (València).
Curious specimen of calcite from Moscona. Formed by some crystals, one of them predominant, with complex rhombohedrall faces with echeloned growth. Accompanied by tabular barite crystals and on a yellow fluorite matrix.
Group of fluorite crystals with curved edges and faces with tiled growths. Transparent to translucent and with a soft bluish violet zoning. An old sample from this classic Asturian mine.
In this small specimen we can see several well-formed cinnabar crystals, bright and transparent, with an intense colour. They are dotted with small rhombohedrons of dolomite, with quartz and pyrite. A very aesthetic miniature.
Very rich specimen in small cinnabar crystals, well defined, intense color, shiny and transparent to translucent. Under the magnifying glass it is spectacular. Both sides are mineralized. It is accompanied by dolomite and quartz.
On the compact quartzite there is a druse of small hyaline quartz crystals, on which various cinnabar crystals have grown. As they are fissure crystals, the largest ones appear flattened, but shiny and with red transparencies. With small drops of liquid mercury.
Almadén cinnabar specimens are well appreciated worldwide. In this specimen we want to highlight the numerous drops of mercury that are deposited (without falling) on the cinnabar and the matrix rock. Also noteworthy are the numerous cinnabar crystals, transparent and defined, with a very intense vermilion color.
Clinohumite specimens from the Sierra de Mijas are a classic of Spanish mineralogy. These specimens are treated using chemical processes to make the crystals emerge in the marble matrix. They are accompanied by dark violet octahedral crystals of spinel. Clinohumite is a member of the humite group. It forms a continuous series with hydroxyclinohumite. The name "clinohumite" has commonly been used when the F/OH ratio has not been determined. Mijas is a magnesium skarn embedded in marble and pelitic gneiss, amphibolites and granulitic gneiss, in the contact zone with alpine peridotites-serpentinites (Sierra de Mijas).

This specimen is interesting both for the species and for the locality. These are aggregates of pseudomalachite crystals that have grown in a fissure in the matrix formed mostly by quartz, in a small outcrop located on the slope of the "Cerro Viejo", near the Maidevera reservoir.
Specimen formed by a druse of quartz microcrystals on which several groups of cubic fluorite crystals have grown. They have faces that are asymmetrically beveled by the dodecahedron. Its transparency allows us to see a curious geometric zoning of color. The specimen comes from the J. Vilalta collection and the A. Soliveres collection. From a mine from which it is difficult to find pieces.
Sheet of palygorskite, fibrous, laminated, delicate and at the same time resistant, silky and soft, like no other mineral species. It comes from the Magaña area, in Soria, and was acquired by Emili Nicolau from Joan Viñals in 1999. A Spanish curiosity.
Aesthetic group of very bright vesuvianite crystals, with striated prisms truncated by pinacoidal faces. They are disposed very aerial on the matrix with grossular. From a Spanish locality known for its skarn (skarnoid) minerals. Prospecting works has been carried out in the area to investigate the possibilities of exploiting tungsten (scheelite).
Sylvite crystalline aggregate, colorless, transparent and shiny. Specimens of such pure sylvite are not easy to find. This comes from the potassium salt works of the Catalonia basin. Analyzed samples.

The specimens that we often see on the market as sylvite or carnallite are usually halite with inclusions of iron minerals. In this case, the specimen has been analyzed indicating that it is mainly sylvite (KCl) with some halite (NaCl) included. The red color is due to inclusions of iron oxydes (hematite). Although it is a salt long exploited in these mines in the Catalan potassium basin, it is a mineral that is sometimes missing from collections.
A good-sized specimen from this Extremadura mine formed by numerous bright andradite crystals, with defined faces, and accompanied by magnetite and an orthoclase crystal. From the Soliveres collection.
Aggregates of greenish-yellow autunite crystals along with sheets of creamy yellow sabugalite. A classic of radioactive minerals from Spain. With Manuel de Torres label.
This interesting sample of kyanite is accompanied by a small label indicating that it is from Santa Marta, in Lugo. The only town like "Santa Marta" would be Santa Marta de Fixós, but we cannot confirm that it comes from that area. Similar pieces have been collected in Muras, also in Lugo.
Group of galena crystals with very rounded cube-ocathedral shapes and dotted with numerous brilliant sphalerite crystals with hexagonal very rare shape. Very curious.
Rhombohedral dolomite crystal from this classic Navarra locality. It is disposed very aerial on a dolomite matrix. Three of the faces of the rhombohedron are dotted with small globules of goethite. A very aesthetic miniature.
Pirssonite crystal, a rare, sharp, buoyant sodium calcium carbonate. As usually happens, it presents whitish efflorescences on the surface. A very unusual carbonate from the type locality at Searles Lake, a large, nearly 20 km dry lake in the Mojave Desert. On its western coast is the mining community of Trona. Borax has been mined since 1873. Today sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate and sodium chloride (halite) are also produced.
Excellent specimen formed by a large group of prismatic cerussite crystals completely covered by smithsonite crystals, rhombohedral and very bright. It is a very different piece from what can be seen in this classic Moroccan locality. A display specimen.
A very good sized piece of arsenatian vanadinite. Numerous crystals of very good size, interpenetrated, with good luster. A Moroccan classic not easy to find with this size, from the Cendón collection (Cerdanyola del Vallès).
